    Default AR15 Sling indeas

I'm working on a sling for my AR (Ars in general). I need some ideas on what folks would like to see in a lsing design that may or may not be currently offered. I'm really trying to come up with something that will work well in a normal CQB role but has the added benefit of offering additional support for longer range shooting. THere are several offering that are designed for one or the other but I have yet to find one that will work well or quickly for both.

This became really apperent recently when I was working with the NC National Guard. Slings set up for CQB did not offer any benefit when trying to engage at extended ranges(100-500yards). Our current mission in the 'Stan is making this more evident, as soldiers are often having to engage targets that are beyond 300 yards.

I'd like to see something like you mentioned that does over support for long range shooting, but can be changed back to single point for just hanged carry retention.

Something like the Magpul MS2, but less expensive and more availability.

Seems you'd just need a long sling belt, two secure hooks, a ring, and a smaller strap the be attached to the back by hook. The front hook could attach to your front attachment point, or come back and connect to the ring for single point.

Cap ... You REALLY have to look at Blue Force Gear. They have a sling (Vickers Tactical) that is the 'HEAT'. I have them on my guns and THOUSANDS of them a are downrange right now. Ashley Burnsed (Owner) is a great guy and a shooter. Worth a look.

Jack has the Blue force sling, I've played with it, and I like it a lot. I will probably get one. I even figured out how to use it as a loop sling for better prone stability. The only problem is that when I sling up that way the tension adjustment is made by pulling away from myself, which doesnt work worth a ****. Other than that I love the sling.

I use both the Vickers BFG and the Magpul MS2 all with Slap Plates. If things are serious I prefer 2 point in case I have to go prone. Single point will plant the muzzle in the dirt and what happens next is very bad. Seen it happen. It was not pretty.

I retrofitted a Blueforce sling with Magpul MS2 hardware. I shoot ambidextrously so being able to convert quickly between single and two point is important to me, but the MS2 was too narrow and wasn't padded.
    Here's my creation.

    hope it helps.
