Thread: Water Storage

For those of us in or close to the Savannah area, I found a source for the 55gal Food Grade drums. I picked up two today and will probably go back for a few more tomorrow, but the guy has plenty and he wants $10/per for them. Done right, you could have 55 gallons of drinkable water that will hold for approximately 5 years.

Anybody wants his contact info just shoot me a pm or give me a call and I'll give it to you.

I'd like to get a couple of those!

I cut them in Half and made deer feeders out of them.......
Got a couple more out back ....
Do tell if you know how to store water for 5 years in them the one we have hanging at Deer camp have to flush it out every year if it sits....

Bleach or chlorine, or there's also stuff you can buy:

I'm getting conflicting views on how much chlorine or bleach to use, still researching it.

I was told one time by a fellow whom worked at water auth. one teaspoon full per 2 gallons of water never really tried it thou...Bleach that is
