Thread: Idpa 28 feb 2009

I just found out Liberty IDPA is having a match Saturday 28 Feb at Rye Patch Range in Hinesville. I'm planning on being there. Its will be my first match and I'm sure I'll get my *** handed to me, but oh well. Should be fun.

Anyone have any tips they want to share. I'll be shooting my Wilson CQB if it matters. That puts me in CDP class correct?

when I was down there they said that the match will be a qualifier. The qualifier is a long match but fun. If you get a chance a regular match is a little easier. Meaning not as tedious. There will be a match at LCIDPA on Feb 14. It will be a regular match or at least its suppose to be. If I can be any help let me know. I shoot IDPA pretty regular.

You will have a blast, and take your time.

I know nothing, other than bring a few mags, pistol, ammo and my normal carry gear and be prepared to get beat badly.

What can you tell me past that? Whats a qualifier match?

I will be out of town on the 14th or I would consider driving to Springfield for the LCIDPA match.

In addition to the mags, gun, ammo and gear. You will need some sort of cover garment. You can use a vest, long shirt, etc. Anything that will cover the gun and mags. The more mags the better. It helps make the match go faster. If it makes you feel any better. The qualifier was my first match also. It really is fun just long and more rules. Yeah I need to practice before I go. i'll still suck but maybe I will suck less.

What other newbie is going to come out for this. I need another newbie so I dont feel quite as bad.

Don't worry about that. Even if you do bad you still make marksmen. Thats what I made at my first qualifier. More than likely there will be some other newbies at that match. Just go out and have a good time. I would like to be there but I will be in Florida at the state match. Now those are a lot of fun.

I am going to try to get to the 28th match - trigger time is trigger time!!!

They are gonna have an indoor match at mission essentials this sunday the 15th. They are gonna shoot at 11 am
