Marlin Model 1895SBL in 45-70 Govt

Just found this on Marlins website. I've been wanting to get a 45-70 and set it up just like this, and now its available from the factory. I cant locate one on gunbroker yet, which is probably good cause I shouldnt spend the money anyhow. I will have one this year though.

That would make a fine rifle. What kind of optics are you thinking about for it?

None really. It has a ghostring already in place. Maybe a 4fixed power pistol scope in a quick realease mount, but I think I would use irons 90% of the time.

I've been wanting a .45-70 levergun for several years now, and have not found a model that I liked until you posted that picture. Trying to find a short barrel .45/70 with a pistol grip stock had almost driven me crazy a few months ago.

So..I'm happy...and the wife probably will not be.

The lever in blue would look great on my 336 in .35 Rem!
