I saw sailors carrying those on some of the ships in Mayport, FL a few weeks ago when we had the dredge in there dredging.

Young? 1980's? DUDE!! I cut my 'rifle teeth' on an M-14 in 1971 at the beautiful resort of Parris Island. I LOVE that rifle! Had a Springfield Armory 'basic' model with scope and mount but could never get it to 'fit' me right. I sold it without ever firing a shot - I know, it was a mortal sin! I have already confessed.
