Default Reloading 30-06 w/ lee double disk kit; help

I am new to loading rifle and am trying to get some 180 grain Sierra Gameking's ready. I have a Lee Classic turrent set up for single stage on these loads. I have some RL-15 and CCI large rifle mil. primers and was wondering if that would work alright. I know a slower powder would be better and a perfect powder measure but just trying to use what I have. Is there a way to make this work with the lee double disk kit? Any help would be greatly appriciated.

what charge range are you working with? If you tell me the charge weight I can help you calculate what Lee states to use.

I have no load data for the RL15 and 06 here with me at work.

.0706 is the VDM that Lee list for RL15. So if you wanted to drop a 30 grain charge according to Lee you multiply this charge by the VDM to get the cc's which using this example would be 2.118cc's Now you have to combine your discs to get this like use the 1.09 disk on top and bottom.

hopes this helps. About 44.5 of RL15 grains is going to be the most you can drop with the double disk without double pumping the auto disc. Again all this using Lee's instructions. I weight all my rifle charges with a RCBS 1500 Chargemaster

According to the Lee Reloading Manual 30-06 shooting 180gr Jacketed Bullet they recommend 44.6 to 48.3 grains of RL15. Using the 180gr Winchester Fail Safe they recommend 44.9 to 47 grains of RL15. now about the double disk, they recommend starting out with 3.15cc to start so according to their published info you would use the 1.57 disk on top and bottom. Again this will be your min load and without doubl clutching the powder measure this is all you can do. Now if you could somehow triple disk the thrower you would be in business.

I would still recomend a scale to verify a few dropped charges just to be safe.
