Default Ok..So I get worked up just a little bit...

Got off work @ 4pm today, and headed straight to the woods.Me and Eric had been working an area where we were finding tons of rooting, but no hogs.Eric decided to pass today, and no one else wanted to go,but I was feeling good, and the temps were perfect for some long distance stalking.

I was working on my Swamper badge today, and have a fun time slipping in in the water.I kept bumping the same group of turkeys, and was wondering if I would get a chance to slip up on a hog with the turkeys around.

I was debating on trying another spot when I heard two hogs fighting.Boy this got my blood boiling!I took off on a straight line, and before I knew it I was at the waters edge looking across at what looked like 4 very good sized hogs.I picked the biggest one out.It was moving, but I had a good prop, and really trust my .30-06.When the head hit my cross hairs I let it rip,and the hog dropped right there.Winds up I Hit it in the right shoulder, and it exited the neck.Boy howdy I thought I had shot a sure enough beast.

Now here comes the problem.I had about 60yds of what looked to be very swift running, deep water between me and the hog.I called Stan,Eric, and tommy for help to get this massive beast out.Stan dropped everything and came to help me.We tried to find a way to the other side, but it became all to obvious we would have to cross the water.

Luckily stan had a life vest, and I grabbed a string, light, and knife. We headed down there.I had a little memory panic trying to find the right spot(That's why I hate swamps),but Stan kept me calm, and I found the spot.He said are you 100% sure you dropped the hog,and it is right there.I said moste definately.Well he starts across the water, and we see it is not as deep as thought. It was about 8" short of waist deep..lol..VERY cold

Well we found my beast, and then the real fun began. My 300# boar with 3" cutters was a 100# sow..lol..ok..So I get worked up a little...I had the scope on 9x,and anyways I told stan I knew no one would help me recover a 100# sow...lol

Thanks a ton to my friend Stan...I'm just getting deeper in debt.

Best part of the "adventure" was watching PLP wade across the raging torrent of a river behind me with the life vest on

That water was cold on the "boys" though
