    Default Sabrina knocks one down!!!!!!!

Me and the kid hit the woods this morning. From the truck we had .56 miles on the GPS to our spot I had picked out. Just about this time of the year every other year this place is a hot spot for deer and hogs. It's a select food source for about 3 weeks. then it's done.

I told her I though it would be worth the hike....so off we go. We get to my tree about 06:45 and I had to select another so we could both get up on the same tree After a few issues with Sabrinas climber we finally got settled in about 07:45.

It was a quiet, still, dark, wet morning after all the rain last night. The squirrels were killing this strech of white oaks it sounded like bricks were falling all morning. About 08:30 Sabrina caught a glimps of a deer but no shot was presented.

Nothing untill about 09:50 I hear a hog let out a grunt/squeel like a short fight broke out...... Sabrina thought it was to her front ..I thought to our rear. We waited and scanned the area. NOTHING...about 5 min goes buy and we hear a hog give a warning blow.whoooossssh whoooosssshhhh twice. Sabrina looked up at me and said.."dad they are close."

A few min later I see some white comming thru the brush, First I thought it was a deer then a second later it hit an opening at about 75 yds and I could see what looked like a Boar hog to me. I told Sabrina" stand up swing to the left and get ready pig!!"

I watched the hog comming closer sucking up the big white oaks and I could hear them cracking as it was crunching them. This thing was like a hoover ... Sabrina had gotten up and swung around. She had the .243 up in the ready position. I could hear her starting to breathe heavy as the adrenalin rush kicked in when she saw the hog. It kept feeding closer and closer comming right at us. Sabrina remembered to use the tree to steady the rifle and was watching the hog thru her scope. I tried to get the video going. About then the hog turned broadside and I hear click as the saftey came off then BOOM as the .243 barked. The hog dropped where it was standing and I was still fumbling with the camera.......

Sabrina put the hammer on the hog at about 15 steps. She worked the bolt on the rifle and put it on safe. I finally got the camera running.......

Give it a min to load Tell me Sabrina wasn't jacked up on the rush!!!!!

I made a few phone calls to some buds to let them know Sabrina scored. It was about 10:05 when she got the hog. We got down and it turned out to be a nice sow of about 100 lbs.

    Heres Sabrina with her prize

We got the stands off the tree and moved them about 200 yds away from the spot, then we drug the hog away and field dressed it . Sabrina and I then started shuttling stands fwd a few hundred meeters then we would come back and get the hog then the process would start over again all the way back to the truck. heres Sabrina in action and then a bit later taking a water break.

It took us about 40 min to get back to the truck taking our time and enjoying the day.

    Awesome day!!!!

Gonna try again in the morning!!!
