I had a great time with you and Richie, we hadn't gotten together in awhile. Operating the video camera was pretty fun. I'm shootin' next time while one of ya'll video it!![]()
Hey Jack, you notice what Randolph is pointing at in the last pic?![]()
Know guns, know peace, know safety. No guns, no peace, no safety.
Man y'all got some good ones!!!!! Hurry up with that video.
Thanks for pimping the shirt PLP.
Hold My Beer and Watch This!
Well Saturday we went out after I got off work.Me and Ben got on a group of 4,and I evidently missed clean at 30yds.The brush was a little thick, and I was shooting my friends Ruger 40 carbine.Which is basically a rifle that shoots 40 cal pistol rounds.Right at dark we got spanked by a big sow.Heads hung down we vowed to come back with force sunday.
Well Sunday we were joined by my friend Richie. We went from 11am to 7pm without anything. Then just after a quick shower I saw where someone else had driven down the tail, and hog tracks were on top of their tracks so I knew it was smokin hot sign.4 minutes from the truck Richie takes a running shot on one after they caught wind of us and somehow misses clean at 20yds.
We picked at him hard to help him get over it,but deep down we were all feeling beat a little.SO we decided to roll over to a spot Ben had seen some the day before. When we got to the clearing we immediately saw 5 out there feeding. We went past and checked the wind.It was in our favor. We slipped along the tree line until we could slip no more.It was thick brush that we could not slip in.We were still 280+ yds away from the hogs.I could have shot with my '06,but Richie had his 20ga slug gun,so I knew we had to do something drastic...I wanted him to get one too.Ben stayed back to run the video camera.
So me and richie started belly crawling across bare dirt...We went 40yds when the rain started down.We had crawled about 150yds when I saw a big boar slip out of the cypress pond, and start feeding towards the sow.He settled down, and we kept crawling. We got to within 80yds,and that was as close as we could get.The one small 12" high bush we had used for cover to crawl behind was now hiding two grown men..lol
The rain had messed up our scopes. We wiped them the best we could, and then layed flat to shoot prone.I told him to do the count down, and on 1 both guns went off and both hogs fell. His acted like it wanted to get up so I put one more in her to make sure.It was pretty neat on camera.
