My friend Clark doesn't hunt much anymore, but he has hunted the property where I hunt now.He tells me spots off and on,and he has been a real good friend.Back earlier this year it had cooled down nice enough I could wear my waders.I went to a secluded island Clark told me about. He said he used to get them there all the time when the water was up.
I slipped in there one evening and as I eased up on the island I heard something to my right.I saw a 25 pound piglet, and could see bits and pieces of a bigger hog,but no clean shot.I think it was the sow.The wind was not in my favor, and she huffed and they both disappeared.
Well surely the hunt was over now..I slipped to the other end of the island and saw nothing.I stopped at the edge of the creek.I decided to head back.I had went about 30yds and stopped one more time.
All of the sudden I hear crashing and palmetto's busting.I turn and run as hard as I can towards the creek just in time to see a large boar hog sail off the edge of the bank into the creek like a lab into a lake!He was hitting bottom and jumping out of the creek like a Bunny with a wet suit on!..lol
I waited for him to get out of the creek(don't like to shoot animals in the water)He slowed his pace a little.I picked out an opening(the last opening I had)and when he stepped into my cross hairs I squeezed the trigger on my t/c omega, and sent a 250gr shockwave his way.He was DRT.
He was about a 160# boar with 1 1/2" cutters.
Here I am floating him out.
Here he is on the tailgate.
