Default My best year for hogs!!

Thought I would share some of the hogs me and friends have taken this year..

Me and Ben got into them on this day.He shot his at 20 steps, and I shot mine at about 120 freehanded after she charged at some deer and ran them off!

Me and Eric with a truck load of pork!We couldn't beat 'em off with a stick that day.

The very next day I went back with my friend STan.He only took his pistol because he had taken 2 nice boars with his slug gun the day before, and 1 eater that morning with his pistol.I wound up getting a shot on these 2 sows with my slug gun.

I took this sow on a WMA during turkey season at 10 steps with my 870 super mag and 3 1/2" 2oz #4 winchester HV's.Dropped like a ton of bricks.

Me and my friend Tommy got on them after we got off work one day.

    My #2 and 3 pistol kills!Good eaters..

Nice boar hog I got lucky on with a 130yd running shot.He weighed 235#,but his cutters were broken.I aged him at over 6yrs old.

I've been lucky this year. It's not as easy as it looks. You really have to stay on them 'cause they move alot.It helps that I work where I hunt, and I have a bunch of co-workers that help me out too.If it weren't for that I think I would still get me some, but I am sure I'd be strugglin' too.

People think that place is over run with hogs. There are times I go weeks without seeing one. There are hogs there, but they aren't over run like it was 8-10 years ago.

I always hear Ft Stewart is over run with hogs but I dont see them that often. I see tracks regularly but thats about it. Its funny cause I see deer on the roadsides all the time but only once in 4years have I seen a hog near 144.

SGT we ain't talking about those 3 hogs you saw last year are we?(I read another post you had on one of the previous forums.)Those cows got out from nearby property and 2 of them were hit by an suv that friday night..The other one was shot by an MP who claimed it was a safety issue.I wish I had known.I would have butchered the one he shot right there. We didn't know until Monday morning what had happened, and they were already bloated. One of the guys went down there with a loader and pushed them off into the woods. What a waste.

Jack they aren't hiring right now. They actually had 2 guys leave and they haven't filled those positions, and from the way it looks they will not be filling them.

PLP... you'd be my hero if you really hunted but I don't consider gunning every hog down you see hunting........
