Default Six shots at 10 yards

Since most documented defensive handgun usage is inside 10 yards (my own conclusion from reading the literature), which type of handgun would give you the best 6-shot group in ten seconds? I'm betting the revolver, unless you're one of "those" folks with a full-race competition 1911... BTW, in the pistol league at Ed's Gun & Tackle in Marietta back when, the "rapid fire" course of fire was 5 shots in 10 seconds, break for reloading, then another 5 shots in 10 seconds. It didn't take but once to find out that 10 seconds is a long time, no need to rush.

I'm not sure if you were meaning accuracy or speed. But I voted for semi.

Well, since I have a serious dislike of semis, I went with the revolver - with a caveat - must be a Single Action. I can't hit shooting DA.

way more accurate with a 1911 than with my revolver. But maybe its cause I shoot it 4000 times more than the revolver???? I voted semi

So far I'm really surprised. Yes, I was talking about which gun you'd shoot your smallest group of 6 shots in 10 seconds. I've just not seen many "accurate" auto shooters at the range.

I shoot a real tight group in that amount of time with almost all my guns.

Voted semi. I can shoot tight groups with either, but faster with the semi.
