Thread: Torn between good looking gun and ugly gun

So I've been saving my lunch money and I can pick up one handgun.

One of the guns is, to me, is a great looking gun with a very good reputation. The problem is that is just doesn't fit quite right in my hand. The other gun fits my hands really well, but its not a looker (IMHO). It too has a very good reputation.

My only hope is to go to Hinesville to rent and shoot both and hope that I actually shoot the good looking gun better.

Good looking gun, that doesn't feel right.


Not as good looking, but I prefer to fondle her.

For what it's wroth, the XDm looks good to me. If it fits you better, get it.

But by all means, let us know what you get.

I would choose the S&W, but that's just because S&W was marked on my diapers and bottles growing up.

You found a gun that fits your hand! That is 90% of the accuracy problems people have with handguns. BUY IT!! I did own the S&W M&P and it was a great gun but it didn't fit me 100%, even changing out all the palm swells. I do own 2 XD's and they fit like a glove. You wont be sorry you purchased the Springfield, trust me.

Personally I dont care for either. dont like the feel of the Shchit and Western, and the M in XD only stands for MORE, more money to be exact.

I would rather have a Glock, the centerline of the bore is closer to the centerline of the hand and is just more natural for me.

Plastic guns are not made to be pretty. So if you are going to buy plastic buy what feels good. Or you could go a differnt way and buy and real gun made out of real metal. Thats just my opinion. and you know what they say about opinons.

I don't see how anyone can say that the XDm is not a good looking gun. I guess it's just personal preference. I know one thing though, I'll never own a Glock! LOL!

I have owned 3 glocks and way more xd's than I care to think about. I prefer the xd hands down no questions asked.

I own two glocks and two xd's. I like both but shoot the xd's much better. For me the xd's shoot faster also. I can get .19 and .20 splits with the glock. I can get .13 and .14 splits with the xd. Thats hitting the target also. Not just pumping off rounds.
