Hold My Beer and Watch This!
Wish they had more info, like battery life. Or more pictures.
I wonder why the turret style windage and elevation for a red dot.
If they can do near aimpoint features and battery life for $230 they may make some money.
Jason Wilson here from LUCID.
I have more photos, where would you like them sent?
The turret style was asked for by several operators.
So far in the professional evaluations the HD7 has done very well with S.E.A.L. operators and S.W.A.T teams alike.
How may I help you?
Wow! Welcome to the forum Mr. Wilson!
You can send the pix to me (admin @ usgunandgame.com and I'll host them or you can use Photobucket.
Hold My Beer and Watch This!
Yes that would be nice, more photos.
What's the battery life Mr. Wilson? Welcome to the forum.
And what are the advantages of the turret style adjustments?
Anything else you can tell us about the optic other than what is on the small information pane on your website?
Thank you .
Thank you.
I have sent photos, let me know if they need re-sized...
The AAA battery has a run time of approximately 1000 hours. This is due in large part to the super efficient LED and PCB board. Also the HD7 has energy saving features such as an auto shut off function (after 2hr of neglect) and the "auto-brightness" reticle mode which conserves quite a bit of power.
As for the turret adjustments, I had a request from operators that wanted the sight to function with external windage and elevation turrets so that they could use the sight to hit targets that were out past 200 yards with having to play the old over game.
As for general information on the HD7,
When I designed this optic I wanted an optic that could evolve with the shooters needs and offer an exceptional value. This of course had to be don within a very durable and quality item. So I made the HD7 with a cast Aluminum frame. Designed the electronics and LED functions to be as efficient as possible. Gave the sight 4 reticles to choose from on an oversized dial on the left side of the sight. Used top quality multi coated lenses and made the entire package Waterproof, Fogproof (Nitrogen Purged) and Shock proof (.458 SOCOM). Then I gave it a thick chemical rubber armor. s for the reticles I made moving between the reticles easy to get a zero POI shift with positive detents for each of the reticle choices. Made the adjustment turrets 1/2 MOA positive metal to metal click adjustments that run honest and true. I choose to make the HD7 function on a single AAA because I wanted to get away from the specialized batteries that the industry has commonly used, for a few reasons. In a sight like this there is no need for the over powered CR123's not the cost and finding the right sized watch style battery can be very difficult in some places. The dot is a small 2MOA dot for precision work and all of the other reticles were designed and chosen for specific shooting tasks and rapid target acquisition needs which was directed by some S.W.A.T. operators
In short I wanted to bring a ACOG style red dot to market that would offer a lot of high end features, solid quality and not break the bank. I am happy to say that the HD7 does just that.
Also, right now for a limited time I am offering a shooter optional 2x magnifier that screws right into the eye piece as an add on for no additional cost.
LUCID is new to the market and we understand that there is a LOT of brand awareness tat needs to happen to allow LUCID and the HD7 to carve their niche in the market.
