I got a chance to play with a FN SCAR rifle today at a local fun store. I wasn't impressed at all, to much plastic and the price was over $3000.00.![]()

Yep.
I played with one recently....not really impressed.
Maybe the ACR or the XCR.
I didn't fire it...but I really don't think I'd like the idea of something bouncing back and forth while I'm firing.
I like the SCAR..........but I dont like it that much.....$3000 is way too much money for this rifle. Besides a few cosmetic features and the piston driven action, what's so different about it...............wait I can tell you.......about $2000.
Dont get me wrong.......if I had tons of money to throw down on whatever I wanted.....I'd buy one just to have it.![]()

It just seems that you can upgrade your favorite AR to have what the SCAR has...with ambidextrous controls and better bolt release...maintain it...and have ammo and mags for the same price.

The same train of thought kept me from buying an XCR.
I had already purchased enough parts to give my AR what I wanted the XCR, short the piston, folding stock, and quick change barrels.....all three things that are not as important as the other changes.
I've shot the SCAR-H and SCAR-L on a couple different occasions this year. I really liked them both but prefer the SCAR-H.
I like my SCAR
