Looks like on GB there are many incomplete Arisaka rifles that can be bought for parts relatively cheap. Then there are those selling for $500-$1000.

    Mike,
Your grandfather's Arisaka -did it make it home without the Japanese markings being milled off or scratched out??

It has all the japanese markings. It has a flower then some japanese writing under than. It also has a serial number then the letter c in a circle. The bad thing is that squirls have eaten some of the stock, not too bad but there is some bite marks.

Sounds like a great rifle Mike. I'd hang on to it.

You have a great find on your hands since the chrysanthemum and the other markings are not altered. I think you could find wood somewhere. It may take some looking.

If you want wood and yours is a 6.5, it's in stock, but EXPENSIVE. 7.7 wood is out of stock (no pun intended) right now.

Arisaka Military Stock & Handguard Sets*|*e-GunParts.com

They have some other parts too, gotta dig around the site a bit.
