Thread: The Dugout Act II: LaRue Strikes Back

After my first failure with the Dugout...I decided to come back with some new lures.

KILLED 'EM.

Except two catfish tore up two of my $4 lures. But the $1 lure worked just as well.

Some of these guys are tiny. One of them I was on the phone...and I was just dipping my rod in the water and one time it came up with a fish on it. Fun stuff.

For those of you who don't know, the dugout is a place where you can fish with no license....$5 for a full day...you can leave and come back all throughout the day Monday thru Saturday 0700 to 1800. Sunday 1300-1800. $2 a pound to keep.... not allowed to keep bass.

It's fun for catch and release. I'd never keep anything from that pond personally.

awesome!! im going to go there when we are finished moving in a couple weeks.

Go in the morning. Right when they open at seven.

I left for lunch and came back and 12 and was still catching. But at about 2 or so they died down.

So many people come in the afternoon expecting to catch and leave in like 15 minutes disappointed with $5 wasted.

Very True.

Maybe if there were crawfish available you'd catch bigger things. I know they are there.
