The Monkey is off my back!
Well, I went hunting yesterday and saw a buck that I drew back on but couldn't get a shot before he moved into cover. I returned to the same area this evening (9-21) and changed trees to put me in a better position if the buck returned. About 20-30 minutes before dark I hear a deer walking. I look to my left and a buck is walking at a fast pace, almost trotting. I immediately stand up and draw back. I thought as soon as he gets to my shooting lane I'll make a noise to stop him. I let out my best doe bleat "maaaaawwww". He stops dead in his tracks, I put a pin on him and let 'er fly......TWACK! He took off and I listen carefully and I think I hear him crash. About 5 minutes later it began to rain a little, so I climbed down and looked for my arrow. I never found the arrow, but found a heavy blood trail.....and got REAL excited! With it beginning to rain I didn't want to lose the trail, so I slowly began to follow the blood. After about 75-100yds I found him and called my Dad to tell him the news. The coolest part of it all, my new girlfriend helped me clean him! He's not a beast, but a decent 7pt and a great 1st bowkill!

Know guns, know peace, know safety. No guns, no peace, no safety.
