Default Got a little for the freezer!

Ok it all started with yesterday evening. We had a birthday party for my son,and I couldn't shoot my smokepole to make sure it was on.So I decided to shoot it in the headlights..ok ok I hear it now..You might be a redneck if you sight your gun in at night with headlights..lol

Well it was off! This gun is never off,but I have let a few people use it,so maybe it was bumped.I shot and shot, and I couldn't even hit the paper.Well I got 20yds from the target, and saw it was hitting low.SO I started adjusting.I had to break it down and brush some of the residue out,and went back to shooting it again.1 hour later it was on...lol

So this morning we go out to the spot, and I haven't had a chance to go scouting, since this WMA is about 40 miles from my house, and gas is so high....So guess what? They clearcutted my spot!!Man nothing is going right. Not only had they clearcutted it,but it had grown thick, and there was water flooded in there.

So we drove 5 miles to a back up spot.People everywhere!(This is a special early season muzzleloader hunt.)I found a spot where no one was at,and we headed in.It was breaking daylight already.I knew this spot usually didn't put out until late morning,so Ihoped we would be good.

I finally was ready at 7:10am.About 8:50am I stand to stretch, and catch a tail flickering out the corner of my eye.I see a doe and yearling feeding about 75yds away.I got my t/c omega on the big doe,and sent a 250gr shockwave her way.The smoke cleared, and a deer was still standing there!

Oh man this ain't my day. What happened..Then I thought about it.Maybe it was the yearling, and the big doe had dropped.I've seen them do this plenty of times before. So I reloaded, and about time I got my cap on she disappeared.I decided to wait it out.18 minutes later I see the yearling again. Now I know for sure the doe is down somewhere.I get a clean shot at about 70yds,and down she goes.

Well the limit is 2 deer so i get down to look.Lucky for me the yearling only went 25yds,and I found the big doe about 70yds from where i shot her.

Just as everything seems to be turning around for me....When I go out into the field to get my gut bucket,I run over a hog ribcage I couldn't see in the grass, and it punctures my brand new $100 tire..lol..That one got payback on me.

PAPYOL...I still love my omega!...6 for 6 on deer, and 5 for 5 on hogs since June of last year when I got it...lol..no misses yet..Knock on wood..
