Friend gets potential Glynn county archery record!

My friend JD shot this MAGNUM 10pt on sunday at 6:15pm.He was in the pine thicket next to some water oaks that were dropping.Around 6:10pm he flips the can over,and grunts 2 times.Barely gets his gear put back up,and hears a buck raking brush on his way in.He gets ready,and then he sees "nothing but horns" as he put it...lol

He drew back,and the buck stepped into his shooting lane quartering towards him.He said he was looking for the source of the noise.He looks right up at JD,and then JD let it fly.He hit him right between the shoulder and neck.The arrow actually hit the heart!

The buck plowed into a pine tree knocking bark off of it!He fell down...got back up..lunged into a briar thicket,and started kicking.Never made it more than 20yds.

I would have to say that was "intense"..lol

He said he has an inside spread of 17 1/2" Maybe I'll get to put a tape on him later on.He needs 110 5/8" to beat the current record.
