Strycnine's Game Havest Test Who here has SBR'ed an AR15? I want to get my barrel cut down to 11.5" and add a suppressor. How much velocity is lost when you shorten the barrel that much? Will I still get fragmentation with a short barrel?

You lose 6-75 fps per inch of barrel you cut off. the real issue is the noise. Those sucker sound like cannon fire. 2 sets of Hearing protection are NOT enough.

After thinking about it I want to do a 10.5 barreled SBR AR15. Talked to the Sheriff today, but he said he won't sign

Can't suppress a 10.5, the gasses are to much. most manufacturers say no less then 11" to keep your warranty. Originally Posted by Strycnine

Jack,
That krink will work nicely on a 10.5. Assists with function and directs more of the noise away from the shooter. Plus it has a single baffle that will reduce noise a little bit too. If you do choose to go with a 11.5, just remember that if you wanna go shorter, you will have to amend your form 1.
