    Default First AR build help

Just purchased my first stripped lower courtesy of change.
I got the spikes tact. multi chambered lower.

Just curious on which way you would go with it. I already have a 556, so I'm leaning more towards the 6.8 for hunting of larger animals mostly.

My question is what calibers could I build with that lower. I know about the .22, 556 and 6.8. Are there any other cals?

SOmeone also told me that lower parts kits were all basically the same, with exception of the 2 stage trigger ones. Would you agree with that statement and what are pros and cons of 2 stage trigs?

    Thanks in advance.

Man there are a lot of calibers you can use that lower for. 458 SOCOM,50AE,9MM,10MM,7.62x25,45ACP,and a bunch of others I can't think of. Somebody else will chime in:D

Most LPK's are the same but, they are not all the same quality. I'd go with a Rock River Arms LPK. I have a RRA 2 stage in my hunting AR15 and I love it.

thanks for the tool offer, I may have to take you up on that.
How difficult is it to get any of those rounds at a decent cost? maybe the 6.8 or 458
where did you get your rra lpk? and what should i pay?roughly

You just have to look around on the net for ammo to find a good deal.

I got some of my RRA LPK's from the RRA website. I think they were $70.00 the last time I purchased one.

I have a 458. THere is no such thing as cheap 458SOCOM ammo, but there are a few companies that sell loaded ammo for it such as CorBon, Reeds and SBR.

Other big bores include 450 bushmaster and 50Beowolf.

6.8 is getting popular with hunters and I believe remington is now selling loaded 6.8ammo. Hell I think there is even some 6.8Wolf out now.

Default I'm thinking of a AR build also

What is a good stripped lower to start with.
Don't want a bushmaster cause every body in Augusta has one of those.
But I will go that way if I must. Around here I'm known to be different.
A price of the lowers would also help cause know nothing about them
