    Default Magpul AFG

Well, Magpul is soon releasing their new forward grip. I'll let the pictures tell the story and info.

Honestly I usually mock Magpul stuff for being gimmicky. But I often find that their products offer exactly what I want, and I end up buying them. So I eat my words and buy what is the more personally superior product.

This product is the same, since it will put my hand how I usually hold it on the VFG. However, if I don't like it then I can just sell it and get another mag well grip like I'm used to.

I pre-ordered an AFG and I'll post pics and my impressions when I receive it. Man on the phone said it should arrive/ship by the end of this week or next week.

Here are all the promotional Magpul pictures.

Let me know how that works out LaRue........it's an interesting concept. Kinda weird but kinda makes sense too.
The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

That is exactly what I said. But we'll see how it goes.

Wish I could have ordered some other color besides Black.

I'll stick with using the handguards. I'm not high speed enough to need one of those.

    Yep.

I'm usually KISS myself, magwell grip.

But if it's comfortable I'll keep it.

If not, I'm sure there's always a market for discounted magpul goods.

Okay. I got mine, played with it.

From what I can tell, the only advantage from a forward grip of the handguard is that it's more comfortable and you have an index that always has your hand in the same position. Also, you don't tire as much.

However...it takes a whole carbine rail, and many people have had to modify theirs in order to fit with other rail devices.

I personally like it and will most likely keep it. It's very light, doesn't mess with magazines on AK or AR. Does somewhat help with control if you can get used to its feeling. Like I said before, it's comfortable with some rail panels. Looks cool if you're into that sort of thing. It's cheap compared to many alternatives.

Most certainly not something for everyone though. There are plenty of soldiers and marines who have been kicking major butt for years with a method that Magpul refers to as "full retard." Plenty of people don't understand , or need to understand, things like over bending of the wrist and other things of that nature.

I do praise this product for being something different, because having access to different options and techniques is what makes a weapon system customizable, personal , and more effective.

Oh yeah....if you use a front sling mount under the barrel, then it will mess with your sling. Because of that I'm considering adding a QD mount to my Troy rail.
