Anybody have any wildcat cartridge AR15's? I was thinking about a 6x45mm for my next build.

that should be a good round if the twist rate is right for what you intend to feed it.
I think the rate a 243 has would be good but what do I know
6x45 is nice but limited to the bullets/OAL because of the AR15s mag. I can match its velocity with my 6.5x1.5TCU. We could do the 6x1.5 or a 6x1.5TCU. This would give you the use of longer bullets.
Since you have the 300W dies you could do a 7.62x1.5. You could push the 125g Nos BTs to 2400fps. This is my next project along with the 30Herritt using 6.8brass. There are alot of stock/shelf dies & reamers out there to use as is. Just shorten some to get a good case/OAL that loads right in the
AR15s mag & no big expense.
Ron, can you post more on your 6.5x1.5TCU build? As always......pic will help.
Ok........
Here is the 6.5x1.5 upper. I ran this on a 16" tube with a midlength gas system.
I like the mid because it seems to reduce the recoil impuse. Not like this one has any recoil but its nice to see the impact through the scope.
Here is the case compard to the 5.56. I cut the case at the neck/shoulder junction of the 5.56 case & size. I shortened the dies some to shorten the case to 1.5" This gives the ability to keep the bullet out of the case for optimal case capacity & bullet seating depth. The TCU needs to be fire formed but I just run a grain or 2 below max.
Still working up loads but I am safely pushing the 95-100g pills at 2400fps without any signs of pressure. I feel 2500fps may be about max. More info as I get it.
Nice looking setup Ron!
After fire forming how many reloads are you getting for each piece of brass?
On 3rd firing so time will tell.
Sounds like a good setup then.
